After November 23rd the Lions Toy Barrels will be out at community businesses collecting new toys for the children. Giving trees will be put up in various community locations on Saturday November 21st. Eligible families should reside in the East Troy Community School District, have children ages birth to 18 (high school senior) and be experiencing financial hardship. Families in need of assistance must apply no later than Tuesday, Novemto receive assistance this year.
Prospective families in need of this program will be referred by the school district, food pantry, Helping Hands of St Peters and other venues. In our sixth year Holiday Help of East Troy was able to serve 71 families with a combined 177 children between the ages of birth and 18 years of age. The East Troy Family Community Resource Center, with Marolyn Komperud as coordinator will continue to take the lead on this project with the assistance of local charitable groups, businesses, churches and local schools.
